Best Mexican Restaurant I know in the area including the cities of Kalamazoo and Battle Creek. Stop by almost every week. Lunch specials are only $5.99. Chips and salsa are amazing too.

This was just okay. The flauta a were over cooked, but the tacos were good. If you do go here order a large pico de gallo with avocado and jalapeño. This was by far the best aspect of the meal.

Stopped by while traveling due to Yelp rating. Employees were friendly and service was great. Chips were stale. There was an extra charge for everything (e.g. Pico de Gallo, etc.). Choriqueso was primarily a bean dip, not much meat or cheese could be found. Couldn't taste much more than the tomatoes in the salsa. Fajitas were decent, but not enough to bring me back. Would not recommend.

Great food! Loved the traditional style Mexican food. Homemade chips and salsa served when seated. Great service. We will be back!

I've been here a couple times and while they do have the best tacos and quesadillas, The service is a lot slower than you'd hope. My son loved those crispy crunchy taco delights!

Our service was speedy and very friendly, our waitress was super sweet and funny. She had pur deinks refilled before we even knew she had taken them! The food was really good and nicely prepared. I didn't love their salsa and chips, although the chips were fine. The restaurant was clean and had a casual atmosphere. The tables and chairs are really showing their age, some of the seats were duct taped to cover tears. Overall however, it was really comfortable. I will be going back again.

Service was decent, little slow for how many people were there. The prices are good, but this is without a doubt the most bland Mexican food I have ever eaten. A decent meal as we were passing through, but definitely not anything to get excited about.

I ordered the ranchero burrito and it was decently yummy for the price. This place is not overpriced at all. We had a restaurant.com certificate for here but opted to save it and come back another time with a larger group so we could actually use it. As I said, this place is cheap. My only real complaint is the very random taxidermy bear in the middle of the place that serves no purpose. Im not a fan of taxidermy in general which might be why it was such a turn off for me.

Excellent food with great service. I like stuff hot! The red sauce they bring out with the chips had me crying in a good way! A little surprised that they charge extra for a refill on the chips, but I can live with that.

Good, hot, filling food. Not too spicy for my Northern tastes, but there are a selection of hot sauces on the table if you want to add more zip to your food. I had the Red and green enchiladas, and I'm comfortably full. Mom got the wet burrito dinner, and has lunch for tomorrow, too. Next time I want to try either the Volcano fajitas, served in a HOT basalt bowl, or the Hawaiian ones, served in half a pineapple. Service was friendly and efficient, too! We will be going back, often!

I too am from California, Oak Hills to be exact. And I hardly agree that this is good Mexican food unless we are comparing Cancun to taco bell. Good service and decent prices Had three amigos platter (basic 3 meat fajitas no tortillas). Meat was bland and needed seasoning and the beans tasted as if they were from a can. The biggest disappoint for me though was the salsa as I'm a salsa lover. It was lifeless and tasted like smashed tomatoes from a can with very little cilantro and no jalapenos. Just watered down tomatoes. Needless to say I was very disappointed after the 5 star reviews.

Best authentic Mexican in the area. The corn tacos with chorizo are amazing and only $1.50. I normally get four of them.

Considering I am a 10 yr native Californian where Mexican food is appreciated. I had to give this spot 5 stars. Food: Fresh and definitely prepared with passion. Presentation: A+ .... the food wasn't just thrown together. Service: A+ .... at one point, the manager came by to say hello and check on the food and then chat with one of the kids at our table to make jokes. Price point: A+, I was taken to eat here so it was free. :) Otherwise, the prices were fairly reasonable from the menu, esp for the quality of food you get in return.

Cancun, along with its sister restaurant, Acapulco, are by far the best authentic Mexican restaurants in SW Michigan. Prices are fair and portions are normally quite large. The chips are fresh and hot and the salsa is awesome. There is something on the menu for everyone.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
